One Way Road Trip

Paul was recently accepted into Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, better known as Virginia Teach. He is pursuing his graduate degree in Civil Engineering. Our decision to attend Virginia Tech meant that we would be moving across the country from the West to the East. This also meant that we would be far away from most of our family and friends. This blog is intended to keep those of you interested in our lives informed and updated.

We left Utah on  August 2, 2012

We made it "all" the way to Denver where we decided to stop for a baseball game.

We camped that night at a state park in Aurora.

Notice the sandals, Paul is still sleeping.

Our second day we drove across the entire state of Kansas....

A long day of driving with not much to see.

We spent our second night in Independence, Missouri.
Paul was glad to have somewhere to shop.

The following morning we visited Liberty Jail.

Later that afternoon we stopped in St. Louis.
This was a quick stop but we snapped a photo at the Gateway Arch.

We spent our third and final night (before arriving in Virginia) at Lincoln State Park in Indiana.
Little did we know we were about 10 minutes from Santa Claus, Indiana! Seriously?
Seriously and there is even a "famous" theme park named Holiday World.
I wonder if they celebrate all the holidays or if it is always Christmas?
Unfortunately we were not planning on stopping there on this trip. Maybe next time.

Arrived in Virginia August 5, 2012

This is where we plan to make our home for the next few years.
